Hurting Flame

Stay away from me please,
You know I only hurt you.
If you stay near, beloved,
You’ll be burned.
I shine alone to-
Give you the light but-
Again, stay away.
I will only hurt you.
With every touch, I was-
Sucking the life out of you, my-
Love and living out of you. I-
Am aware, though I never was,
My concern is only causing you,
More pain, you’ve been inhaling-
All the heat and smoke, I-
Was deceived by the thought, I-
Was giving you light and warmth.
I am hurting, by the thought of-
You hurting cause of me, my-
Love is only giving you more pain.
The flame, I, thought was shining, but-
Oh, beloved! I was only burning, I-
Never gave you any warmth or light.
Stay away from me please,
You know I only hurt you, when-
It takes me more courage than Earth, to-
Say these out loud, love, I’m-
Begging you to go away, I-
Falter and waver in the wind, as-
I lie to myself again this time, only if I-
Knew what I could possibly do.
I’m afraid, of everything, you-
Your pain, light and myself.
I’m afraid, you might collapse in,
No time, I have already filled your-
Heart with smoke and your
Skin is melting, I am afraid-
You might change, in no time, I-
Wish I could go eliminated, I-
Pray it will be okay, even if I-
Can’t see you every day, I-
Just want you to be away, away.
The same words I repeat, it’s-
Echoing within my body.
The same words I repeat, with-
The same voice I have left aside, you-
Nod at everything, you bow down with-
A bright wide smile on your face, like-
You haven’t been poisoned, like-
You haven’t been bruised, and I-
Wincingly close my eyes, as I-
See you come nearer, closer, closer.
You spread out your debilitating arms, and-
Hold me close in a tight embrace, I-
Falter and shed tears, your adamant love,
Hurt me more and then, you held my-
Desiccated flame tighter, I reneged.
I never kept you safe, my eyelids-
Pressed together and I awaited us,
To fade away, to burn away as ashes.
Ashes in thin air and nothing more, I-
Was drenched in my tears, I then saw, my-
Flame dampening, softening and-
Disappearing.
Disappearing.
Disappearing.
You only let go of me, then-
With bright beaming eyes, still-
And then, I knew, I-
Was wrong all along, you-
Were the true flame of my fire, I-
Cowered beneath myself, then-
Until I found you, I never told you,
Anything else and I am more grateful,
You never listened to me, you never have.
I should’ve given you the reins, long before.
I am a flame, of bright lavender, you-
Are keeping me warm, you aren’t
Exhaling smoke into my eyes, I desire-
You never think so; you are hurting me.
Even if I wither away, even-
If I’m inhaling dust smoke all day,
I shall never,
Leave.
Can never.
