Humans Of War

The all-knowing time ticks away

As it carefully meanders past its immemorial ordain

And cinches fate

As the Earth scars, to the consequences of the human mind

And awakens the retiring skies

Spewing them in a red-orange that only humans can dare.

Threatening echoes of panic in the midst of an air raid

While the ears oscillate to catastrophic booms between growing weary and sustained alarm

Hastening the untimely migration of white storks as like its tyrannized co-inhabitants

From humble, gable shaped residential avenues

That now haunt the expiration of the lease of their freedom

Burrowing their way back to underground subways

Befriended by a lone suitcase.

Replacing the sounds of chirping birds with jets trailing

While cautiously hoarding rations when survival calls dearly

As hurling ballistics blacken housing souls in crater dimensions

And destroy any evidence of a rosier day.

All the while harnessing hatred in the pursuit of the enemy

In ancient books and languages

In history and un-harming individuals

In unconstitutional lands and in women

Rendering millions as a number like their souls never lived

Trumping scars onto skins over ideologies of a wealthy tyrant

While shouting slogans to protect the future generations from damnation

As deserted and orphaned children are left to fend for their own

Forever in the search of a sanctorum that they once called their home.
