Humanity - A Basic Need

A blind man was walking on the side,

He had to cross the road, so wide.

A group came talking, loud with cheer,

And pushed him down as they drew near.

The blind man lost his stick,

And searched around to find it quick.

He had a package, no time to delay,

He had to cross to reach halfway.

Inside the bag—twelve sweaters and food,

Handwoven with care, and kindness so good.

He reached the orphanage, gave the pack,

Spoke with the children, gave courage back.

He weaved each day for livelihood,

Yet shared with love, as all good should.

He smiled and said, “I feel their cheer—

Though I can’t see, their joy is clear.”

Then turned and left, his mission done,

A quiet hero, helping one by one.

The head then said with grateful grace,

“He is first in the human race—

Of peace, of kindness, where love will lead,

Humanity is life’s true need.

“Let’s live with care in thought and deed-

look towards welfare and lead”.

“Humanity in life is a basic need,

it a part of life indeed”
