Humanity

By Pamela Ibarra

PART I

Humanity

Humanity has lost its meaning. Humankind is no longer human; Humans are no longer kind.

We have turned into beasts,

Rebels and scavengers, fighting on instinct, without a vision.

We've lost our mission. No morality,

No integrity, without individuality, no creativity or knowledge. We have forsaken our values for a couple of dollars.

How sad it is to realize what we've become—

A life without empathy

For our sister, For our brother.

A civilization with no tomorrow,

A tribe of imbeciles amid the rubble of our despair.

But never forget:

Humankind has the mindset and the power to be whatever we aspire to be. Let us not turn into creatures of greed and arrogance of superiority, intolerance, and madness.

Rise above.

For the future is now,

And tomorrow will not wait.

For humanity to learn its lesson.

PART II

Congratulations, Humanity

The language of violence

has always been fluent.

in the mouths of power.

It dressed itself in law,

cloaked itself in order,

built a house of horrors—

room after room of sanctioned cruelty.

Same playbook, different names.

Same script, new actors.

Congratulations, Humanity.

You've learned nothing.

You were baptized in blind faith,

swallowed illusion like communion.

You devoured the media,

but spat out the message.

You weaponized your gods,

your flags, your myths of justice—

and aimed them at every soul

that didn't tick your boxes.

You bowed to systems

that desecrated sovereignty,

dignity and the raw, sacred humanity

of others.

You had an open-book test.

And you still failed.

Miserably.

The hardest lesson for some of us

was learning that we can't save everyone.

The hardest lesson for you

will be when the mirror doesn't lie.

When shame wraps itself around your bones

and guilt becomes your bloodline.

When consequences become your only inheritance.

And you face it—alone.

Generation after generation, haunted by the silence you call peace.

A harsh wakeup call for us in our current reality. It should speak to your soul.
