Human And Their Touches

By Kristy Saikia

Touch.

Mist hugs her morning sun.

River calms as she meets

her sea.

The fallen Autumn leaves

embraces her Earth

and,

roots are entangling with roots

for years and years.

And us?

Fingers are entangled

with fingers.

The warmth in the hugs of

humans heal

the broken hearts of other humans.

The simplicity of human touches

lies within the complexity of the

crooked lines on their palms.

Humans are

the mist,

the river,

the fallen leaves,

and

the old roots of a tree.

A human touch is

inexplicable, sacred and a home to another human.
