How To Be Lonely

Here and there between the bitterness,

Between the throes of momentary delights,

Snaking through the crevices of chaos,

They sneak up on you...

Those feelings that shall not be named..

They insist to persist to be with you;

Like the lover from that timeless romance novel,

Loneliness craves all of you, so, 

It is very easy to give in to the allure.

Guising as a tempting fate,

This pretence lures the hubris in you,

Rendering you amiable to taste freedom,

Not shackled by the time of others, 

Or their feelings for you,

These sentiments begin to blur love.

Yet dreams become outrageously vivid –

With affection peeking through every corner,

Mornings filled with sweet words of tenderness 

Whilst the warmth of hugs gracing starry nights;

It takes little time for those dreams to shapeshift 

Into wishes and those wishes into hope – 

A heartfelt plea to clear the blur.
