How Much Light?

There is so much light

The rainbow has yet to fade

It is a lie

And don’t tell me otherwise

I believed that

The sky is bright

But my eyes have opened

To a moonless dark night

I thought my soul a part

To such a lovely place

Then why have I awoken

To such a disgrace

The world was compared

To a beautiful ball of light

But there is none to come

Through my window

For there was never a single light

It was a lie

It was all a lie
