How it all used to be

A thousand scattered fragments of time,

A euphony of memories serenading my mind

The solitude of evening, so bittersweet,

Reminiscent of how it all used to be,

When we’d clumsily traipse through the moonlit fields,

Or gaze at the sky and the stars it yields,

Taking pleasure in the sheer simplicity,

The essence of how it all used to be.

When we paid no mind to life’s many woes,

and where winds blew, we willingly followed, For our lost recollections, my heart weeps silently,

As I think of how it all used to be.

As days turn to nights, and nights into days,

I search for the echoes of our untroubled ways,

Not a care in the world, we were born to live free,

I long to return to how it all used to be.
