How Can I Be Kind

they asked me 'what do you want to be when you grow up

?

i never thought of being anything but kind,

but how can i be kind when the whole world was so brutal

to me,

every time i tried to be happy people stole my smile from

me.

how can i be kind when the world was so brutal to me,

they called me pathetic when i tried to be free,

they tore my dreams apart and left me alone with their

envy,

tell me how can i be kind in a world that was so brutal to

me.
