Hope, A Brittle Thing

In this generation, where sadness

is regarded as a trend

I hold the belief that somewhere

Within us, something broke

Whilst the derailment, we passed on

The shattered piece, with hopes

Of it getting nurtured, only to see it

Going around in circles,

Fabricating traumas

Out of executions made by others

The butterfly effect rests on the notion that

One small occurrence can influence a more complex system

But it never endowed the brutality of

Expectations making someone

Morbid; melancholic

In the seek of comfort we all go

Not knowing when we will attain it

Oh, for hope is a brittle thing

One strike, and it shatters

Giving up seems easy

But easy is not life

So, get up and strife for another day

For when you find peace, you’ll find it within
