The water was up to the shallows, my ankles submerged under turquoise satin. Seemed as if only light could grasp at me With whimsical laughter and peeks Through mammoth cigar smokes painting a baby blue sky In hues of ivory and dusk A force barrels into me, warm arms twining with mine Laughter, twinkling eyes And all the other twenty shades of radiance in between Soggy summer dresses clinging to tanned legs Cheeks aching from all the smiles Barefoot smudged with mud from the shallows Hair intertwined with the low grasses Elbows grazed with soil and grass The distant echo of the summer sun, dipping below the canopy Freckles, sun warmed bones and rum under an evening sun Tis’ a page ripped from a book No title No author Neither a beginning nor an end Tis’ simply A honey glazed dream static in time
