History on Sleep Mode Please !

By Sini Jose

It is always a better option

To live with the text

Than with the real.

It is in all ways

A safer choice

To worship the statue

Than to keep

The model alive in the studio.

It is quite comfortable

To see everyday

The coloured photograph

Than to arrange lively talk

Along the scheduled

Morning cup of tea

Luxury lunch, Evening tea

And Night-time cheer parties.

As it is known

History is harmless

Perfect and ordered

Pleasant and poetic

Only so far

It remains unread, unopened,

And you keep it locked in

The South Side library

In the very same steel shelf

where the books

Retain thier perfect condition,

For its keys still remain missing.

You know

Otherwise

How much it hurts,

How much blood shed

It would invoke,

How many cauldrons

You arrange in advance ,

To collect the rain fall

To avoid a disastrous flood.

What catastrophic thunders

The world may got shocked with,

What terrible clashes

May shake the world to Fear,

What fears, what tears, what heart drops

May drown the world to

A death so cold hard to tell . . .
