Hidden Fossils

Sometimes I find myself digging for pieces of you

That could be

Left inside of my own chest

Like a lost archaeologist searching for hidden fossils

Hoping to find any hope, any memory that was forgotten,

Overlooked or lost in translation. A sunken feeling,

Just like a piece of paper stuck to another, Being ripped apart

against their will, remnants,

You made the branches to my flowers bend,

Like red wine on white lace, you stained my heart till the end.
