Her Wait

She woke up early,

Before the twinkling stars faded fairly.

She ate and drank,

To stay the whole day being blank

Not having swallowed anything,

She still looked charming.

Of her heart it was the expression,

On her face that gave the reflection.

The sun sank in,

And the radiance of stars was soon to begin.

To look the most beautiful she tried,

And dressed up the way to be seen as a bride.

The most awaited guest,

Finally appeared after an intense request.

She rushed outside to welcome it,

And to pray to keep their relation closely knit

Through the sieve, she saw the moon,

Trying to match with other couples' tune.

But here was a different story than them,

To offer her water she stood there bereft of her gem.

She closed her eyes to see her man,

Who was at the frontier far from his clan.

Though he had promised to be with her,

But like every year, the priority remained the border.

She understood him and his love for his nation,

Waited for his call, be it even for a small duration.

But despite the era of advanced technology,

The network issue didn't even let him ask for an apology.

She stopped her tear from rolling down the cheek,

On that auspicious day didn't want to become weak.

She took a deep breath, prayed for his long life,

And even being at the second, she still felt proud of being his wife.
