Heart Of Glass

So, you think that I'm whiny

And my voice makes ears bleed

My wounds make you flinch

Because of disgust not empathy.

You wanted to be my healer

And see my raw form

Undressed of the fake smile

That always felt wrong.

Now things are getting real

And you're turning your back

You asked for this so face it

Let me unfold and unpack.

My tale starts with a heart

A Heart made of glass

Lost its shine on the way

And fallen until it cracks.

One piece of the shatter

Got stuck in my eye

Now Reality becomes blurry

With Every bloody tear I cry.

One piece of the shatter

Got stuck on my lip

Now for a good luck's kiss

I always get skip.

One piece of the shatter

Got stuck in my foot

Now with each step I take

It gets misunderstood.

One piece of the shatter

Got stuck in my fingertip

Now every person I touch

It hurts them a little bit.

One piece of the shatter

Got stuck in my brain

I'm always dripping cold

But I never feel the rain

Now I'm nowhere injured

Yet I'm always in pain.

I know you had no idea

You just wanted to explore.

I Was going to give you an out

After showing damage in my drawers.

But Before I was even finished

You were halfway through the door.

So now here I stand

Glass shards in my hand

Healing my heart

But the scars will remain.
