Heart Crush in The Market Rush

The grip of your hand was tight,

So was my heart's might;

The noise of the tapioca chop stole my sight,

But your words crushed my daydream light;

The odour of the cabbage could defeat a knight,

Way quicker than my innocence could ever fight;

The place marked the colour of my hope white,

While my soul forever lost its bright;

The way you stomped on my worth was not right,

It has put me in a debt of wrath every night;

The shame that I encountered on my way home might have been slight,

But the pride I held up for you got infested with blight;

The embrace of your love can now seem tight,

But all I can feel is the betrayal's bite;

The crows fled the scene to write,

And I will always be, just, quite alright.
