He Who Played The Lyre

Ah, the skies above shine blue,
The birds chirping as they fly.
The river flowing in her gentle pace Oh, if only you could see this, my love.
What a joyous day that was,
Of song and of dance;
How beautiful you looked in your dress.
I still remember, my love…
The smile you showed me.
A smile as gentle as the shade of a tree,
A smile that melted my heart if ever they graced my eyes,
Oh, my beloved… Why would the Fates have willed this?
My father, I love him. He who gave me my voice and my song, I love him. He gave me a chance- To speak to Hades,
To sing to Hades.
All of Hades wept tears of sorrow, my love.
How could I have been so foolish?
If only I took a step more,
One more step, Just one… For you to come into the light- To feel the light of the Sun on your cheeks, I would have you in my arms now.
My love, what a father I would have been- Singing to our sweet children of love, Telling them tales of happiness, To watch them grow.
Oh, what a mother you would have been-
Taking our son into your arms,
Kissing him before he fell asleep on your lap.
Hugging our daughter tight,
Telling her that you would always be with her,
If ever she felt sad.
You have died once, my heart, But I have died twice.
I feel sorrow that no man should ever feel.
No one knows me as who I was before, But a husk am I.
My love, will you wait for me?
I shall come to join you very soon.
Death be to the muse who lost his reason.
I shall always love you, my dear.
