Have You?

Have you met someone who loves you like their life depends on it? 

Like the world will come crashing down if something were to take you away from them? 

As if you were the only reason, they cherished waking up every morning, dressing up and showing up.

 Maybe not unconditionally like your parents do, maybe not as patiently as you would your child and maybe not as carefully as the trees canopy the earth beneath; but profoundly, intensely and intentionally! 

Like the love from movies, songs, books and stories where passion burns fiercely and cools down at the mere collision of your lips. 

As if entangled in your embrace they attained celestial bliss they never thought possible in this lifetime for all they need is you, for You are their calm, closure, pleasure, pain, desire, death, resurrection and enlightenment. 

Have you?

Have you ever loved someone as if your life depends on it?

 Like you dawn breaks at their smile and their departure is the dusk of your life? 

As if the whole universe did conspire to build this chemistry and the string theory was just a theory before you felt this thunder bolt of feelings course through each cell in your body just at their sight? 

Have you? 

Maybe not eternally like they would their child, maybe not phenomenally as the cosmic plan spirals beyond mortal comprehension and maybe not perfectly like the melting snow meets the ocean; but precariously, passionately and infallibly! 

Like the love from Greek mythology, romantic comedies and metaphysical poetry where Time plays the antagonist drawing you away from them reluctantly, forcibly and maliciously. 

Have you? 

Have you ever loved someone so much that you trace the fragrance they leave behind on the sheet with your finger tips and draw daisies on their back just to feel them breathe?

As if entangled in their embrace you attained celestial bliss that you never thought possible in this lifetime for all you need is them, for they are your calm, closure, pleasure, pain, desire, death, resurrection and enlightenment. 

Have you?

Have you been in love so unfathomable that even a thought such as that chokes you, makes you breathless and leaves you gasping for air; raising goosebumps across your body and those gentle shivers down your tender back? Have you?

And if it wasn’t for this love that over occupies you, consumes you, refines you, defines you and defies you; you’d but be dead.
