हमसफ़र

एक तल्खी थी उनकी निगाहों में, (2)

जब आना चाहा कस कर उनकी बाहों में,

मेरे चेहरे की शिकन, मेरे होंठों की हँसी (2)

उड़ा दी उन्होंने हँसी में।

कोशिश करती हूँ याद करने की,

आज भी उन लम्हों को (2)

कि कब खुलकर जिए थे, कब खुलकर हँसे थे,

कब गुज़ारी थी रातें तारें गिन कर। (2)

चक्की-सी ज़िंदगी पिसती जा रही थी,

पिस रहे थे अरमान, पिस रही थीं हसरतें।

दहलीज़ पर खड़ा सैलाब, मुँह बाए देख रहा था,

कि कब तक रोकोगे मुझे (2)

इस दहलीज़ पर इस चौखट पर,

बह जाने दो ढह, ढह जाने दो, (2)

उन टूटी-फूटी यादों को।

क्यों सँजोकर रखा है? क्यों सँजोकर रखा है,

चिल्लाया सैलाब- क्या कोई आस है?

हाँ, आस है आज भी उस हमसफ़र की, उस दोस्त की,

जो जीवन की हर राह पर थामे कलाई,

चट्टान बन जाए (2)

और आँखों में देखते ही मन की बात समझ जाए,

मन की बात समझ जाए।
