Half-Love

By Bhavya Barai

You loved me almost —

just enough to keep me waiting,

never enough to stay.

We built a house on “maybe,”

and watched it sink

in words we never said.

Some nights,

I still see you in the half-light —

a silhouette of what I wanted,

and a ghost of what I lost.
