Gut vs Tongue

In one body, they coexist,

A war that no one can resist.

The gut, a guard that knows us well,

Protecting where the tongue rebels.

The gut, wise and strong in might,

Guides us toward what’s truly right.

Yet the tongue, spoiled and bold,

Seeks indulgence, uncontrolled.

One word too quick, we slip, we fall,

One taste too sweet, it harms us all.

I wonder where this battle leads—

Do even gods know where it bleeds?

The tongue, a wild and reckless thing,

A tool that needs its silencing.

For with each taste, we risk the fight—

The gut cries out to choose what’s right.

So when will balance finally reign,

And free us from this constant strain?

When will we learn to choose the good,

To live in harmony, as we should?

In this endless war, we must unite,

To end the cravings, win the fight.

Let gut and tongue find peace at last,

So both may thrive and troubles pass.

In unity, we make our stand,

To nourish life and heal the land.

For balance is the truest key—

Let love and wisdom guide the plea.
