Grief

Days go dark

Mind goes blank

Laugh becomes smile

And life becomes hell

Hope it’s still going to take awhile

You walk, you talk, you work

You think, you try to sync, yet it always goes in a wink

Trying to connect with people, looks weird

Because you couldn’t find yourself yet, after all you tried

After days of confining yourself in your castle

Walking a mile towards normal is still a battle

Hope it’s still going to take awhile

Every morning wakes you just fine

Then it hits you like a freight train

Pushing you back to dark old part of your soul

That you fought back to stay afloat in real world

Hope it’s still going to take awhile

I knew losing someone was painful

But never imagined it’ll be this hard to handle,

Imagining them sitting at the chair

Watching your favourite show together

Hearing them laugh and comment

Never thought it’ll all go away in a minute

None of this is ever going to make sense

And it’s time I believe it without false pretence

Hope it’s still going to take awhile

It gives me goose bumps whenever I think of you

Like it’s the braille language my soul brew,

Telling its ok to take that while

It’s ok to walk alone for that mile

It’s ok to grieve that person you loved and miss

It’s ok to heal yourself in baby steps

It’s ok to not be okay… after all it’s YOU that matters!
