Great Grief

I dream of world that is not my own,

For mine has crumbled, its shine now gone.

It feels like a movie or a song,

But without a rhythm to sing along.

I punch a hole in the fabric of reality,

And ask the universe to erase the misery.

For i face a fate, I don't deserve,

I scream for justice as it wears down my nerve.

If only I could live for eternity,

I’d trade that power to rewrite my story.

The world is cruel, as is reality—

What I would give to live in fantasy.

I fell into the abyss of bottomless pit,

Hopes all shattered, despair fills the street.

Darkest night, with endless reign,

Even the brightest star cannot sustain.

I've watched the show; it ended well,

I sit alone as the curtain fell.

I've embraced the loss and all the pain,

I kissed goodbye as the spotlight waned.
