God’s Damnation

A chick

Wounded one

Came to my porch

From nowhere…

It could not fly

It should have by then

But with broken wings…

—Desperate to be saved.

Asked me help—

A sad, gloomy chirp…

I took it in

But then it wanted outside

I kept it somewhere there

Kept an eye on it—

A tired eye though.

Three-four days passed—

Caretaker sparrows fed it

It took with all the hunger and thirst

I also tried to feed—

But was refused.

It would play like a dancing flower in spring—

INNOCENCE and LIGHT.

One red day—

It was gone (taken)

Caretaker sparrows desolated.

Wretched us; sought it in sky, on trees, roads.

In vain…

A friend was taken

I was left deserted again—

For poor eye.

For remiss eye.

God’s damnation…

Severe and swift
