God is a Woman

By Mehana Agnihotri

Matters it not

That her hand wields

A sword or a broom

Matters it not

That her hair is

Scattered wild in the wind

Or pinned and neatly groomed

Never forget that

God is a woman and

If she gave you life

She can take it too

Mistake not her

Calm for submission

Nor her quiet for fear

Make the mistake

Of looking at her

The wrong way

Your end shall be near

Never forget that

God is a woman and

If she can know charm

She can also know no fear

She is strength

She is power

Her anger makes

Her enemies cower

Wars have been fought for her

And battles have been won by her

For God has

Always been a woman

Phenomenal, beautiful, wonderful

A warrior, a saviour, a caregiver

And never forget

You are too
