Ghosts

My ghost,

do you see her in your dreams?

She must visit you now and then.

Does she torment you

with tears shed in my wake,

flowing endlessly on my pillow,

with the sound of my laughter,

of it’s infectious before you?

She must visit you now and then.

Does she torment you

with passionate kisses,

the ones that left you with longing?

is your sleep stolen away

with recollections

of our heart’s communion?

She must visit you now and then.

Does she torment you

with accusations of deceit,

the indelible feelings that persist?

revisiting the past with what ifs?

She must visit you now and then.

For yours torments me.
