Fruitless Helper

The poem ‘Fruitless Helper’ beautifully captures the essence of altruism - helping without expecting any rewards or recognition. ‘Fruitless’ represents the act of selfless giving without any ulterior motives, reflecting the purest form of generosity. 

"You're stupid", they say 

when you save someone's skin. 

“Fruitless is what you do, 

to protect the ones who don't thank you!" 

Help is not for give and take, 

lend your hands for others sake. 

Look not for them to repay. 

Forgive them, even if they betray. 

Dejected and deceived? Not I am, 

for I'm over the moon and on cloud nine. 

Gratified I feel that I've met the needs, 

of somebody other than mine. 

You can't know how it feels. 

to aid a person who's in need.
