Frozen Moments

By Kavya Mehta

I don't want to grow up,

I don't want to age, my face a coverup.

I want to freeze time,

And only remember the happy moments, dive into them, and sink.

With life's fleeting moment,

I couldn't hold on to the past and the present.

I don't want to be someones bride,

I want to be and not have my wings tied.

I don't want a man to shatter my heart,

I don't want my friends to leave a scar.

Everyone around me will eventually die,

And suddenly there would be nothing left of me.
