Frozen Memories: A Wistful Goodbye

You’re leaving and I am not ready yet

but I don't think I will ever be,

These memories, I will never forget,

Before you go, are your last gift to me.

They say you’re bitter and cold

how can they not feel this warmth

and the love that never gets old,

Blossoming like roses with no thorns.

It’s always a different sky with you

wrapping me quietly in delight,

What a shame! Only if they knew

the dulcet winds of this silver night.

Laying down on your white land

makes me dream of a fairytale

filled with colors, you, me, and

a world where you’d never quail.

You always come after these roses perish

and depart before they could bloom,

It’s heart-rending, but I always wish

for you to stay forever against this doom.

Now farewell, I will count days,

And when I look up at the Moon

promise I will think about you always,

So, dear winter, please come back soon.
