Friendship

The movie Victoria and Abdul immediately stuck a chord with me. This is a true and extraordinary story about a beautiful and unusual friendship between the Queen and her Indian servant and spanned for fourteen years. It began in 1887 at the celebration to mark the Queen’s Golden Jubilee. The Queen met Abdul at her Golden Jubilee when he was chosen to present her with a ceremonial coin.

Thus, begins a wonderful friendship which rose above culture, color, age difference.It is the very essence of friendship ,that we can come from different ends of the spectrum,speak different languages ,believe in different faiths,but can share a bond of humanity and still can become friends. They were both passionate, intelligent, incredibly cultured characters who grew and learned from time spent together.
