Frenemies
Enemies from the same mother,
Stared at each other.
For a really long moment,
Mother stood nearby, long with disappointment.
Feet were steady on the ground,
Palms were sweaty, faces frowned.
Eyes were red,
Today, they were dead.
This day was one to remember,
Mom came and sat in the centre.
She said the fight was meaningless,
Who started it, they did not fess.
Long faces looked at their feet,
Hair ripped out, done was the deed.
One lost her nail,
One lost her hair.
Pointed fingers,
Unspoken words that still linger.
Secrets were told,
They saw stories unfold.
Couldn't trust each other now,
Crossing paths, took a small bow.
Always stayed in their zone,
Shared nothing, not even an ice cream cone.
Sisters who were best friends,
Fought like there was no end.
Now they didn’t even pass a smile,
Mood worsened when the other was near a mile.
