Freeze The Moment Where We Belong
By Brinda Mitra
Freeze the moment where we belong,
I do not want to go back to tedious days
And nights of misery, slow and long;
Let us be free from earthly ways.
Let’s get away to never-ending valleys,
And beaches with sands black and warm,
Or maybe with grass and cattle and berries
In the countryside on an old man’s farm.
Roaring water of rumbling falls,
Snowy mountains and winds a-strong,
Only you and I and the nightingale’s calls,
Freeze the moment where we belong.
With the rise of each sun, I feel myself numb,
And go by my day as all creatures do;
With dusk I retire and wish to myself,
‘If only you were true, and my fantasies too.’
