Freedom — Meditating In Motion

By B S Anagha

We all seek this word at different stages.

As children — freedom from school, from rules, from parents,

Like birds flying freely through the day and night.

In adolescence — freedom from exams and shifting emotions,

Like blossoms unfolding on a tender, growing plant.

In adulthood — freedom from responsibilities and forced maturity,

Like a lone fish swimming across a vast ocean.

In middle age — freedom from bills, parenting, chaos, and taunts,

Like leaves and petals drifting from an aging tree.

In old age — freedom from medicines, pain, sleepless nights,

And the silent agony of loneliness,

Like the fading stem of a timeworn tree.

We crave freedom from suffering, misery, slavery, and more.

But is death truly freedom from it all?

No.

Why do we long for this freedom? Karma?

Can we ever escape the evil that surrounds us?

Feeding on darkness, emptied within, suffocated by stillness.

The root of all evil lies in expectations.

Can we be free?

A roaring yes, we can!

Peace comes with courage, unity, and strength.

Why lose yourself in this journey?

Accept yourself — and the realities that shape you.

Find yourself. Connect the dots.

You and I — the same, as humans.

Just tiny droplets of pearls in the vast sea of the cosmos.

Our true goal: to reach the ocean of the universe from which we came.

As we toil and tend, let the soul sit still — meditating in motion.
