Freedom Achieved Or Yet To Be Achieved?

By Maaheen Fatimah

Living free today

Let’s look back at yesterday

Young girls and boys stood brave in wars

Because of them today there is no peace and no scars

Let’s pay tribute to our tricolour

And honour our leaders, who never turned away

Yet there is justice to be achieved

Crimes against women to be deceived

Corruption everywhere

But unity and honesty nowhere

We citizens need to honour India by stopping this injustice

By promising a brighter bliss

Together we rise, with hearts full of pride

To honour our past and stand side by side
