Rights and duties got incorporated

The moments arrived for which we awaited;

Added the directive principles of the state

Oh! They made our nation look so great.

Lost and won the battle of superiority

Promised independence against authority;

Punched absolutism in the face

Right at the finishing line of the race.

Hot red blood, constant cries

Losing our families to win the prize;

And the moment the flag rose high with pride

Pride boosted, we succeeded in our stride.

Live freely, start to live your life

You are not just a chuck earner or a woman;

You have your identity beyond these

Garner the new born freedom, if you please.

Marry who you love, eat what you will

Doesn’t this sound like a recently constructed lozenge?

Where women are free, concinnity is might

A free motherland is now a promised sight.

People choosing their leader is a birth right

Republic reaching the topmost of heights;

Intercaste marriages aren't considered shy

Jettisoning religious strifes for being awful.

No demarcation allowed in any form

chastising the culprits is the norm;

Not spooked to raise our voice against what’s wrong

Men and women are raised to be inversely strong.

Indeed so, post 76 times of these pledges

Our country is in a state of harmonious mess;

No composition is enforced for what's right

Politicizing for gain, each other’s plight.

Shattered expedients and fordone dreams

Out loud my identity riots;

Questioning everything, it asks infrequently

When will they appear my promised freedom?
