Freedom

My country has been free for 75 years,

And I am 30 year old, drinking beers.

Happy Independence Day, you are now free,

What does that even mean? (but first get your vaccine)

Who are these ‘free’ people?

Where can I meet them?

I ask questions,

I look around for answers,

A voice haunts and tells me,

“This journey is not for you my son”,

So I let it be.

The moon is setting,

The sun rises again,

On these streets,

I just want to drive again & again.

A new world unfolds as I step out,

Walking slowly, I just wanna shout.

I enter my glass world,

Guarded yet visible,

(Is this really my Freedom?)
