Once upon a time, there was a boy whose name was Freddie. He really loved to eat food, so his friends called him Freddie the Foodie.

One day, Freddie was craving something sugary and cold, so he decided of going to the ice cream vendor. As chocolate was his favourite flavour, he asked the ice cream vendor to give him a chocolate one. Alas for him, when the vendor was bending to get the ice cream for him, his spectacles fell and broke. The old vendor could not see without his spectacles and could not spot the chocolate ice cream. So, after some time, the vendor gave up and asked Freddie to find the chocolate ice cream himself. Poor Freddie was too fat to bend and look for the chocolate ice cream.

Suddenly, a boy came, who by his look looked mischievous but helpful. His name was Manny. He offered to help Freddie and the ice cream vendor to find the chocolate ice cream. Manny found the ice cream and gave it to Freddie. Freddie wasn’t thankful to him and didn’t even utter a word of thanks. Greedy little Freddie found the ice cream delicious and asked for more. Clever Manny knew he would ask for more again and again so, he gave him several ice creams in one go. By talking to Freddie, Manny soon came to know that Freddie had a nickname. So, he had the idea of giving himself a nickname too! That would be Mischievous Manny.

Freddie was already very plump and after eating so many sugary ice creams, he started blowing into a balloon. A lot of people started gathering around to see what was happening. He flew high and high in the sky. After some time, he flew so high that he could not be spotted. Manny spotted Freddie. A mischievous idea came to his mind and for that he needed a yarn of thread and a needle. He ran to his house and got it. He then joined the needle and yarn together and attached a note to it which said:

Freddie spotted that thread and the note but did not see the needle. Some people saw what Manny was trying to do and couldn’t help hiding their smiles. So, as soon as he held the needle closer to himself the needle pricked his tummy and it deflated. He did land on the ground but not gracefully and fell.

Mischievous Manny laughed a lot with tears running down his cheeks. Freddie was not much hurt but had a small wound on his arm. Manny tried to pull a straight face as Freddie started crying. He brought a first-aid box and bandaged his wound. He then took Freddie to his house and made him lie down on his bed. His mother scolded Freddie a lot when she heard that Freddie had eaten so many ice creams. Freddie had learnt his lesson that we should not be greedy and only eat a little amount at a time.
