I stand unfazed, crafting thoughts into verse.

The silence of the night, profound and terse.

Into unknown realms, the profoundness unfurls,

I lose a few seconds of life as the tobacco burns.

I wonder, when has man ever gained something without a cost?

This chance at answers, I’d regret if lost.

I light another deal with the Gods.

I ask them this time, to show me the cones and rods.

The Gods answer, through the darkness unveils an oasis of light.

To find answers, I dive without a fright.

From what I learn, everything seems to have a plan.

It’s etched in the fundamentals that I seek to understand.

A robust concept that has no flaws.

One strand gives you a peak at the laws.

I wonder how much I can gain when I blow a pack.

Is there a chance to view the finer cracks?

Caught in a conundrum, I think of the simpler times.

When my tasks were nothing but nursery rhymes.

Time’s passed by, and I think of my creator.

My fingers seem to find the keys to this passage, with my body, a mere spectator.

If behaviour is nothing but genes and ground.

Why should thoughts be tethered and bound?

Is this shared consciousness? I gather.

Am I nothing? But, a repetition of my father?
