Fragile Light

By Shubhangi Godse

The stars in my eyes poured out into night,

and I whispered to myself — it will be alright.

So what if the night never ends here?

At least no one will know if I disappeared.

Maybe then, I’ll find myself —

right there, where silence hums like prayer.

If I burn within this pain,

will my fragile light

brighten up this endless skies?

Can you feel my warmth across the dark,

hear my silent core

beneath the soundless spark?

I will travel lightyears

to reach you —

so you won’t give up.

I will be your last straw,

the one you cling to

when the void feels endless.

I will burn in this pain,

golden bright —

my fragile light will brighten up this space.

Maybe I’ll find myself

in a poem without words,

no need for voice or sound —

for I have found me,

here and now.

At the end of this cold maze,

a flower bloomed in space;

its fragrance lingered,

a memory trace.

The stars in my eyes poured out into night —

that’s when my constellation came in sight.

I will burn in this pain,

and my fragile light

will brighten up this space.
