Fragile Homes

Skies filled with orange & gold hues,

The morning gave its onset cues.

Two guests marked their arrival,

Looking for a home for their survival.

Made the ledge their personal base,

The couple, uninvited, found their space.

With twigs & straws, they made secure,

A homely canvas, simple & pure.

One stayed home for all concerns,

And waited until the other timely returns.

An abrupt sound drilled through the walls,

The leafy crown dived as twilight calls.

The sudden force, shakes their belief,

And shatters their hopes to grief.

Displaced, they fly away unprepared,

From the haven they once shared.

They returned to pick up the remnants,

To find another address to be their tenants.
