For You Are Worth The Chance

You will stand there one day,

Staring at the deep, dark whirlpool 

The abyss of it.

It's darkness greater than the spark in your eyes

Jump! will say your heart and mind

And, I too, would say jump

for that can be any of the two ways

Either a portal into heaven itself,

Or the worst carnivores waiting for their next meal

However, if you swim away, you lose it, and all its possibilities 

Because if not the animals, 

The 'what ifs' will eat your brain anyway

So, jump, I would say

For you are worth the risk

However, stare before you jump, for that builds your fire

Makes your rib cage that of steel

Stare without blinking,

Stare into your abyss, until its finches first

and take that plunge

For you are worth the chance.
