FOR THE FIRST TIME, AGAIN.

It vanished, all of it,

Abruptly, on a dark night,

Nobody knew we’d lose sight,

Lose you, your memories, our friendship’s light.

​Back when we thought we’d be happy forever,

To be young forever, or even if not so,

To grow old together.

We didn’t make it, did we?

We lost friendship, in its purest form,

And now I see you from a distance,

Not from embarrassment,

But a tangled thought:

You don’t remember me like I remember you.

​I dreamt of aligning paths, maybe one day,

And to have long talks about how we all grew up,

In different places.

Now, I pledge to reclaim that childhood’s grace.

Let’s meet again, for the first time.

Sit and talk of the good old days,

Can we?
