For Pledges To Keep

The forest is silent, the night is still,

Even the stream flows hushed, below the hill.

There’s a streak of soft light where the shadows glide,

A faint tap, and the petals slide.

The wind picks up as the melodies start,

Melting in those eyes this feeling in my heart.

A heart that beats, it flees to leave the same,

Defying coherence, it loathes to be tame.

That which has begun to move in tiny steps,

My dreams embellish your path, as your journey shapes.

A little slow at first, but it is here to last,

In tune with the melody, to the beat of your heart.

Reverence hums from the forest behind,

Not a being around, just you in my mind.

There’s a smile gliding in when the thoughts are asleep,

Another world is taking birth, for pledges to keep.
