For Life Goes On

By Vijay Kumar

My weary old eyes

Have seen it all

The beginings, the journey

The rise and fall

I ask myself

Did I live well?

Did I do all

The more I lived

The more I saw

Of life, a paradox

A melieu diverse

Time, presents its hues

More shall happen

Yet seem déjà vu

Of the rise and fall,

matter the tempest and the thrall

Life goes on

Past us all

So, I simply ask myself

Did I do enough?

Have I mattered at all?

When I’m one with the dust

Will an honest tear drop fall?

For life goes on,

Past us all
