Fly Away With Me

By Sanjita Banerjee

You held my hand in one dazzling twilight,

Your fingers caressed mine when I was hiraeth,

The comfort you bring makes me feel feather light.

The red string that binds us gives me emotions filled with a labyrinth,

 Maybe I don't want to find my way out; maybe I wish I could hold on to you;

 So when I give you my hand,

 Will you fly away with me?

Others may call me maudlin,

But your dreamy gaze never pushed me to metanoia,

Yet your touch fills me with adrenalin,

 You are my one true querencia;

My only adventure,

So when I give you my hand

Will you fly away with me?

Our love is like selcouth,

 So when you whispered 'orphic' when you saw me,

I knew I was done for.

Is it selfish of me to even want you in my rebirth?

I already knew your answer when you chose our aubade.

When I give you my hand, I am certain,

 You will fly away with me.
