Fleeing The Dark

i’m hiding in the corner,

remaining unseen, unnoticed.

camouflaged into the darkness,

avoiding feelings i can’t suppress.

but i feel her glaring eyes on me,

questioning my being here.

she’s wondering why i joined her,

honestly, i do not remember.

she’s getting up now,

out of the dingy murk.

she’s leaving, she’s brave.

but deep down, her company, i crave.

suddenly, she’s turning around,

pathetically, i’m still stuck to the ground.

her hand is reaching out to me,

beckoning me to follow.

she’s taking me with her,

away from the gloom, forever.
