That was my first time falling in love.
I could hear my heart beat
Butterflies in my chest , and
Couldn’t feel the ground beneath my feet.
I met beauty in person
Staring straight, not a blink
My heart raced,
I had a lot to say, but couldn’t speak.
The very moment you see her,
You know she’s someone you don’t deserve.
Unsaid love and rejected feelings
Hurt more than pain can probably hurt.
The moment you let go,
The butterflies in your chest grow heavy.
There’s this ache in your heart that words can’t explain.
You can’t do away with it
So you simply start romanticizing pain.
What is love if it doesn’t kill?
Knowing Love is poison, we’d drink it, still.
First love tears you apart.
It cuts you piece by piece , stabs straight in your heart.
Then you live the rest of your life trying to forget
While reinforcing the same thing you want to forget.
When true love comes your way,
You’d still not want it anyway
The bird you let go
Still remains the prettiest
And it’s songs are the only kind of music
You’ll ever move for .
Skies turn grey, life turns dark
Love , a game. The victim, your heart.
Though you pretend to not remember
The first love, I think , will always be her.
Not just the first love,
But the love you’ll desperately yearn to feel , for the rest of your life.
