Hearts racing, palms sweating,

As one walks towards the other.

Countless thoughts run,

Scaring them further.

T'was but a chance encounter,

Which brought them here together.

Moved beyond the point of no return

Through all sufferings and yearn.

It started the night She gazed outside,

Wishing she didn't have to hide.

Spotted his signal that very second,

She was frozen, awe-stricken.

To reply or not, she contemplated.

A bright new future she anticipated.

Like a fish out of water, she struggled,

As in her heart first love bubbled.

The first message was just white noise,

To pass his time, some nonsense ploys.

He was amazed to have gotten a reply.

He felt so happy, he could fly.

Sending messages, signs and signals everyday,

He patiently listened to her relay

The details of her family, work and life.

He began to like her, in harmony and strife.

He poured his heart out into the unknown,

Sending her his love, raw and over-blown.

He overcame his fear, and jumped the barrier.

This made their differences and distances tinier.

That which was taught impossible

Something not even remotely probable.

They achieved it through perseverance.

Even In chaos, keeping coherence.

Shattering the norms of their society

This was their sole priority.

Logic behind this was beyond comprehension.

Although true, this felt like imagination.

Though an atheist, they still prayed,

Regularly, to meet on a fine sunny day.

Loads of hardwork and thorough planning,

Turned the rendezvous enchanting.

She worried he looked out of her league,

The truth was he was fully intrigued,

By her beauty and her brain power.

Thanking the stars to have brought him, her.

Holding his hands, meeting his gaze,

She was floating in a daze.

Seeing his smile shine,

Everything felt just fine.

Had she believed in soulmates?

No, they were old wives' tales.

But now she's met him out there.

On this outer space adventure.

Their beliefs changed and the future too.

He wasn't the only alien. She was one too.

Hunger, cold and loneliness affect them both.

So they were the same after all they thought.

No longer worried or anxious,

They faced the blank new canvas

Of life, ready to paint their colorful rainbow.

And await to see what happiness comes tomorrow.
