First Christmas Without Her

By Ayden Fernandes

I still yearn for the time,

I had spent with Her.

If I had a million dimes,

I would use it all to spend a day with Her.

She brought Light to my morning,

Calmness to my evening.

I stared at the drops of dew,

As I would have never imagined her days would be this few

I would have never imagined a day without her.

For I had never appreciated the time I had with Her.

If there was a pendulum that could turn time,

I would have spent all my dimes.

Christmas did not feel the same.

The decorations in the house that never came.

Going to church felt Lonely,

With her everyday felt Holy.
