Fire or Love

You love me like fire loves wood;

You hug, and I blaze bright.

I sure show off flames,

But secretly burn from inside.

Your love feels like a fireball,

Raging into my core—

Lights up dark forests,

Warm to my heart but melts my soul.

If burning to ash is my fate,

Let your flames engulf me whole.

I'll end up black as coal—

But even coal dazzles

Before smoking out its black soul.
